Local Charter Chapter - Founded 1984
During the last 25 years, the members of Success Charter Chapter have grown
personally and professionally and introduced new members to the association.
Through their efforts, numerous students have benefitted from the local scholarships
(given prior to 1995) and the SBMEF (Stephen Bufton Memorial Education Fund)
grants and scholarships. Members have also received member education funds
to assist in continuing education training and business skills programs offered
by accredited organizations.
Over 25 boards have served and 25 terms of Chapter Women of the Year, 13
years of Top Ten Nominations, thousands of dollars in fundraising projects
created, completed and celebrated. The focus has changed as the membership
interests and availability evolve. For a number of years, Success managed
the People's Fair project for the ticket booths and members built their organizing,
managing and planning skills.
For 2006, the direction changed as members
wanted a project that supported our business and professional growth while
increasing awareness of ABWA in the Denver metro area. We created an event
that was highly promoted and featured 4 speakers highly recognized for their
presentations and books. CONQUER! Life's Curves was a day filled with learning,
shopping, and fun. It was exciting to have a small team create a day that
proved we could produce a quality program and have as many guests as members
attend.
For 2007, Success joined with Top of the Rockies to create a smaller, more
intimate CONQUER! Life's Curves 2 that would focus on local members and share
their life lessons in SHARE THE POWER! More about the event is here.
